Living Homes

Check out the exciting new home developers at Living Homes. The company is launching a very affordable line of beautifully designed, environmentally-friendly and energy efficient prefab homes next month. You can get into one for $225,000 - $600,000 plus installation, for a 1500-2500 square feet home. They can also be built much more quickly than conventional homes, thanks to the factory work completed before the build. There are also several communities of Living Homes being developed in Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, and other areas. The first model home is being built now in Santa Monica, and you can check out a live cam from the build site as well.

In-Car Coffee Machine

Taking "coffee to go" literally, the Nespresso InCar coffee machine is a concept machine exhibited at the Milan furniture fair Salone del Mobile. It's a second-place winner of the Nespresso design contest, and designed to be installed in the center console and double as an armrest. All we need now is an in-car shower and our daily commute won't be so bad. Check out Gizmag for more.

Extraordinary Dog!

Meet Faith, one of the most amazing dogs you'll ever see. Born without her two front legs, she has learned to walk upright like a human -- it's an unbelievable site to behold.

The Blood Cleaner

No bigger than a pen, this new device filters smallpox, Ebola, and other viruses from the blood. Like a dialysis cartridge, the Hemo-purifier uses a filter to remove toxins from blood. But unlike traditional dialysis, the device also includes plant-derived antibodies, such as cyanovirin, that bind to a variety of viruses and eliminates them from the bloodstream. The plant solution can be modified to weed out even genetically engineered germs. All five liters of blood in the human body can be filtered through the unit in about 12 minutes.
