Global Change with Artistic Flair

Born from the wreckage of Hurricane Katrina, Burners Without Borders is an international network of volunteers dedicated to building community through social good works that reflect inclusion, self- reliance, civic responsibility, gifting, and above all, the belief that doing good can be fun, and done with style. Every summer Burning Man participants (aka Burners) meet in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada to re-engage with the community, and to celebrate shared values of radical self-expression and self-reliance. Burners celebrate the power of community, honor the importance of art, and enjoy the immediacy of experience. There are regional BWB groups around the world, and current projects include street planting in Oakland, CA; a work weekend with Habitat for Humanity in Reno, Nevada; and a call for artists to bring artistic bird baths to Redwood City, CA.
